On July 11, 2025, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce proudly participated in the ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the rebranding of the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum. Formerly known as the Las Vegas Natural History Museum, the institution is evolving to reflect a stronger emphasis on science, technology, and community engagement—an exciting next chapter for a museum that has served the valley for 34 years.

A Regional Chamber Supporting a Diverse Economy

This event exemplifies the Henderson Chamber’s role as a regional business organization  that supports a wide range of industries—from manufacturing and construction to education, healthcare, and the arts. While many may associate chambers with traditional business sectors, our mission extends well beyond. We are proud to advocate for and uplift cultural institutions like the Las Vegas Science & Natural History Museum because they play a vital role in Southern Nevada’s economy and quality of life.

Culture and Commerce Go Hand-in-Hand

Cultural institutions are more than just community assets—they’re also economic engines. Museums like this one inspire curiosity in science and nature, promote STEM education, and help shape the next generation of innovators. They also bring visitors into the area, supporting surrounding restaurants, retailers, and service providers.

By participating in this ribbon-cutting, the Henderson Chamber underscores the importance of these organizations in building a thriving, resilient region—where education, innovation, and economic development intersect.

A Shared Future of Innovation and Inclusion

The museum’s expanded identity comes at a time when community collaboration is more important than ever. Its renewed focus on science and natural history mirrors the values of progress, education, and opportunity that the Henderson Chamber works to foster across all industries.

As we continue supporting new business openings, expansions, and rebrandings across the valley, we’re reminded that our economy is strongest when every type of organization—from high-growth companies to cultural institutions—has a seat at the table.

The Henderson Chamber of Commerce is proud to celebrate milestones like these—and to stand alongside the people and places shaping a brighter future for all of Southern Nevada.

how to avoid banking security threats
By Clark County Credit Union November 15, 2025
Quick Summary Online banking security is crucial as cyber threats grow. Top threats include spoofing, malware, public Wi-Fi risks, and weak passwords. CCCU shares essential tips on how to protect your finances. In today’s fast-paced digital world, online banking security is more important than ever. While digital banking offers unmatched convenience, staying vigilant ensures a safe and secure banking experience. Here are the top four online banking security threats and tips to avoid them: 1. Spoofing Scams Spoofing happens when fraudsters manipulate caller IDs, email addresses, or websites to appear as legitimate companies. Their goal is to steal your bank information by asking you to click links or answer questions pertaining to your bank account or login credentials. Tip: If in doubt, directly reach out to your financial institution using their official contact details. 2. Malware and Viruses Malware can infect devices, putting your personal and financial data at risk. Cybercriminals often use malicious software to steal banking details and exploit sensitive data for their own gain. Tip: Regularly update your devices and install trusted antivirus and anti-malware software. Older devices may not accept current updates, making them a risk. 3. Public Wi-Fi Vulnerabilities Public Wi-Fi networks are often unsecured, making it easy for hackers to intercept data. Tip: Never access your online banking account on public Wi-Fi. Use a secure, private network or a virtual private network (VPN). 4. Weak or Reused Passwords Using simple or reused passwords increases the risk of unauthorized access to personal and financial accounts. Tip: Create strong, unique passwords for each account. Use a combination of upper and lowercase letters, numbers, and symbols. Additional Safety Tips: Enable multifactor authentication (MFA) for extra security. Download banking apps from verified sources only. Monitor your accounts regularly for suspicious activity and set up account alerts. Log out after every session, especially on shared devices. Conclusion Protecting your online banking security starts with staying informed and proactive. Remember that knowledge is key to safeguarding your finances, so always verify unexpected messages or calls and think twice before clicking any links.
