Only Hispanic-Owned Radio Station in Nevada Honored at SBA Award Luncheon
Fiesta 98.1 FM Shares How Entrepreneurship Programs Like NV Grow Helped Them Rise to Success and Motivated Others To Receive Assistance
Fiesta 98.1 FM has just been recognized by the US Small Business Administration at this year’s SBA Award Luncheon held on May 2, 2024 at IPEC Las Vegas. As the only Hispanic owned radio station in Nevada, Fiesta 98.1 received the SBA’s Microenterprise Small Business of the Year Award. Founding Managing Partners, Rafael Cerros Jr and Rogelio Regalado were on hand to accept the award.
“The SBA Award symbolizes so much more than a business achievement. It’s a testament to staying true to our roots, to the power of community support and to the self that together we can overcome any challenge and still find ways to enjoy putting smiles on faces,” said Cerros JR. “It belongs to every listener who tuned in, every partner who believed in us and every family member who stood by us through thick and thin."
NV Grow is the organization that nominated Fiesta 98.1 FM for this award. This initiative provides small businesses with tools and resources, at no cost, to help them grow and thrive. This includes access to essential data, marketing and business resources, peer business counseling, networking opportunities and counselors who speak multiple languages.
“It was an honor for the NV Grow team to nominate Rafael and Rogelio for an SBA Award,” said Eric Garner, Director of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Development and the NV Grow Program at CSN. “Their dedication to the listeners of Fiesta 98.1 is truly inspiring. They absolutely deserved this recognition. Our counselors and subject matter experts are proud to support such upbeat and community-minded individuals. We wish Fiesta 98.1 FM continued success."
