Kevin Butler, Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Operations
Nevada State College
Kevin Butler is the current Senior Vice President for Finance and Business Operations at Nevada State College. As SVP, Kevin is responsible for managing the college’s financial, human, and physical resources, providing leadership to the accounting services, financial aid, budget, human resources, facilities management, purchasing, and campus infrastructure departments. A self-professed generalist, his higher education career began in the University of Arizona motor pool. Since then, Kevin progressed through various accounting and management positions to leadership roles at Research I Universities, community colleges and state colleges. He has also worked abroad, successfully managing complex, multi-million-dollar, international development projects.
Kevin has transformed colleges by developing new business strategies and implementing transparent budget processes. He has created unique tools to assist with management of campus funds at all levels of the institution. Kevin has been instrumental in financing and guiding comprehensive campus capital projects, constructing, or renovating 17 buildings on three campuses in 3 years at Cochise College and building out Nevada State College’s 512-acre campus from a single owned 42,000 square foot building in 2013 to a campus consisting of more than 464,000 square feet.
In addition to an Associates of Arts degree he holds from Cochise College, Kevin earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration as well as and Master of Business Administration from the University of Arizona. Kevin holds a certificate from the Harvard Graduate School of Education’s Institute for Education Management and is licensed in the State of Arizona as a Certified Public Accountant.
Kevin has been active in community work serving as treasurer for several social and non-profit entities including the Bisbee Council on Arts and Humanities, Sierra Vista Sunrise Rotary
Club, and Friends of the Warren Ballpark. He served on the board of the Greater Sierra Vista United Way and is a Class of 2017 graduate of Leadership Henderson. Kevin enjoys running, staying active and having a good beverage with friends.
