Chamber President & Secretary

Scott Muelrath
President & CEO
Henderson Chamber of Commerce
Scott Muelrath has fulfilled an array of leadership roles in Southern Nevada’s business community since he moved here in 2001. He has served as the President and CEO of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce since 2011; he promptly implemented a vision to reposition the Chamber in the marketplace. In the past 10 years, the organization has grown membership by nearly 200%, revenues by 400% and sponsor support by 500%. Other accomplishments include broadly expanding the footprint of the HCC in Sothern Nevada with more than 50% of its membership currently located outside the city of Henderson. Whether small-to-large businesses, for-profit to non-profit, the Henderson Chamber is viewed as the conduit to tap into prosperity, growth and civic engagement. In addition, the HCC has grown its charitable membership to include more than 70 501c3 organizations.
In 2018, Muelrath led the Henderson Chamber to partner with four other local chambers to launch the Clark County Health Plan Association (CCHPA), the first chamber-affiliated association health plan in the country. A collaborative effort, the association allowed small businesses to band together and offer health insurance to their employees at significant savings; CCHPA grew into the largest chamber-affiliated AHP in the country. For this accomplishment, the HCC was recognized by the LVGEA with its annual Partnership Award in 2018. Muelrath has developed an array of successful and influential Boards and committees through the Chamber, positioning it as a leader in regional economic development, workforce, networking and community engagement initiatives. He currently serves on the City of Henderson Mayor’s Economic Development Task Force.
Prior to the Chamber, Muelrath was the General Manager of the Galleria at Sunset in 2004, where his understanding of the local community and real estate market helped guide the 1.1 million-square-foot-complex to a 20 percent increase in sales per square foot over a 7-year period. His forward-thinking management style led to unique retail partnerships with organizations such as the Henderson Libraries to open Southern Nevada’s first library within a retail setting, the Henderson Police Department to develop a community-policing station and the Henderson Space and Science Center to host science-related exhibits for mall patrons.
Outside of the office, Muelrath enjoys spending quality time with his family and going fly fishing. Together, he and his father coauthored, “The Hunt, Flyfishing’s Greatest Adventures,” a coffee table photo book on fly fishing around the world. Muelrath graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in history in 1993, where he met his wife of more than 20 years, Dr. Michelle Tusan. They have two children, Nicholas and Sophia.
