Chamber President/CEO/Secretary

Scott Muelrath
President/CEO
Henderson Chamber of Commerce
Scott Muelrath has fulfilled an array of leadership roles in Southern Nevada’s business community since he moved here in 2001. In 2004, Muelrath became the general manager of the Galleria at Sunset, where his understanding of the local community and real estate market helped guide the 1.1 million-square-foot-complex to a 20 percent increase in sales per square foot over a 7-year period. His forward-thinking management style led to unique retail partnerships with organizations such as the Henderson Libraries to open Southern Nevada’s first library within a retail setting, the Henderson Police Department to develop a community-policing station and the Henderson Space and Science Center to host science-related exhibits for mall patrons.
Even as the general manager, Muelrath was involved in the Henderson Chamber of Commerce as a long-time volunteer and member of the board of directors. He took over as CEO in 2011 and implemented a vision to reposition the Henderson Chamber in the marketplace with a focus on personal service. He and the team never looked back, as it has grown into a nearly 1,800+ member organization with over 130 sponsors.
Some of his accomplishments include not only dramatically increasing membership, but broadly expanding the footprint of the HCC in Southern Nevada. Currently over 50% of its membership is located outside the city of Henderson. From small to large and for-profit to non-profit, all businesses see the Henderson Chamber as the conduit to tap into prosperity and growth. In addition, the HCC has grown it’s charitable members to include over 70 civic-focused organizations.
In 2018, Muelrath lead the Henderson Chamber to partner with four other local chambers to launch the Clark County Health Plan Association (CCHPA), the first chamber-affiliated association health plan in the country. A collaborative effort, the association allowed small businesses to band together and offer health insurance to their employees at significant savings; CCHPA has grown into the largest AHP in the country.
Muelrath enjoys spending time with his family and fly fishing. Together, he and his father co-authored “The Hunt, Flyfishing’s Greatest Adventures,” a coffee table photo book on fly fishing the world. Muelrath graduated from the University of California, Davis with a bachelor’s degree in history in 1993, also where he met his now wife of over 20 years Dr. Michelle Tusan. They have two children, Nicholas and Sophia.
