Chairman's Round Table
The first Chairman's Round Table will take place on Tuesday, November 17th at Emerald Island Casino. We will be inviting different members at each Round Table event. My goal is to meet and touch as many members as possible. Several members will join me for an hour of good ole' fashioned conversation over breakfast. I will be opening this up to everyone. This will be an opportunity for you to tell me how the chamber can further help your business, if needed. It will also be an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and for you to tell me your views on a range of topics. Round tables offer unique opportunities for learning about one another and for professional exchange.
Veteran's Day is just around the corner; an easy date for me to remember as it is my Mom's birthday. What better way to get involved and support our veterans than by participating in this exciting opportunity which supports a worthwhile cause? You will have the chance to enjoy a tremendous golf experience with fellow business and community leaders while golfing at one of our newest HCC members and Gold sponsors courses, Chimera Golf Club.
7:30 a.m. Registration and continental breakfast
8:30 a.m. Shotgun Start - Four-person scramble format
1 p.m. Lunch and Presentation of team and contest winners
Small Business Saturday
November 28th, 2015 (the Saturday after Thanksgiving)
If you want to do something to help your community and yourself, there's one easy step to take: patronize your local small businesses.
On Small Business Saturday
we each need to make an effort to patronize small local business. As many as possible in a day!
We encourage you to shop local stores, hire local contractors and use local service providers. Many people today trust national brands more than their local businesses. We need to get involved and ensure that local businesses survive. As small and big businesspeople and entrepreneurs, let's help reverse that trend. After all, it's in your own best interest to shop from local stores and patronize local service providers and contractors being a local business yourself.
Local businesses build communities. When you use a local business, you improve our local economy, create jobs, keep money flowing throughout our community, support our schools, fire and police departments. It's time to, once again, put your trust - and your money - in small companies. Patronize your local businesses and build your local communities at the same time.
The Chamber Team will send out information soon as to exactly how members can participate.
Let's keep this chamber personal and relevant.
