The HCC will host its monthly networking breakfast from 7 - 9 a.m. on Tuesday, August 14th at Sunset Station. "City Manager’s View: A Premier Vision for Henderson’s Future," will be presented by Richard Derrick.
New City Manager Richard Derrick will discuss his vision for maintaining Henderson’s status as a premier community and outline recent changes in his leadership team. He will also highlight the City’s successful economic development and redevelopment efforts, including attracting the NFL’s Raiders to build their new corporate headquarters in West Henderson, while also discussing the benefits of sound fiscal stewardship and the steps that are being taken to streamline the process for businesses to locate and operate in the City. In addition, he will outline how the City is investing in local schools to help student achievement and in public safety to ensure that Henderson remains one of America’s safest cities.
Richard Derrick was sworn in as City Manager for the City of Henderson in July, 2018 and has served as the Interim City Manager since February of 2018. He was also the Assistant City Manager/Chief Financial Officer since June 2013. As chief executive officer Richard oversees a values-based organization that implements City Council prioritized short and long-term strategies to accomplish the City’s mission and vision. He advances city-wide initiatives through both strategic visioning and hands-on leadership with a commitment to best practices, performance metrics and the enhancement of the organization’s constructive culture.
