The HCC will host its monthly networking breakfast “How Businesses Will Be Affected By The New Tax Cuts and Jobs Act," presented by John Wightman of Rich, Wightman & Company CPAs, LLC, from 7 - 9 a.m. Tuesday, March 13th.
John Wightman, CPA, CGMA of Rich, Wightman & Company CPAs will discuss how businesses will be affected by the new Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The presentation will specifically include examples of the impact of the new pass through business deduction on small businesses.
JOHN WIGHTMAN, CPA, CGMA
A native of Las Vegas, John graduated from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with a Bachelor of Science/Arts degree in accounting in May, 1989. He went on to earn his Certified Public Accountant license in September, 1991 and after working for Mark Rich, CPA, CFF for eight years formed the partnership of Rich, Wightman & Company with Mark in February, 1994. His professional memberships include the Nevada Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and participant in the AICPA and Nevada Society Qualified Review Program. John is the former Chair of the AICPA Technical Standards Subcommittee-DOL, and is a Chartered Global Management Accountant CGMA (an AICPA designation), a member of the Henderson Economic Resource Partners, and has been a member of many boards and charitable organizations in the past. John works as an expert with the Nevada Attorney General’s office to assist in investigations of business, fraud, securities and other complaints filed through the Attorney General’s office.
