Jacquelyn Leleu, Partner

Jacquelyn Leleu is a partner in McDonald Carano Wilson, LLP’s Las Vegas office and focuses her practice on a range of complex commercial litigation matters, including contract litigation, business torts, employment litigation, professional negligence and fiduciary litigation, real estate litigation, and franchise litigation. Born and raised just outside Chicago, Jacquelyn relocated to Las Vegas and joined the firm in 2001. She has represented a wide variety of clients in construction, real estate, gaming, retail, manufacturing and financial services industries in a wide array of litigation, administrative and alternative dispute resolution matters.

Jacquelyn provides day-to-day employment advice to, and collaborates with, management personnel on a variety of issues such as handling personnel issues; conducting investigations of illegal harassment complaints; evaluating demotion and termination decisions; preparing employment manuals, handbooks, and contracts; enforcing covenants not to compete; creating drug testing policies; preparing severance packages; and developing and presenting training programs and materials.

She also advises and defends employers in cases involving Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and state civil rights agency discrimination charges; Title VII discrimination and harassment lawsuits; compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act; wage and hour issues, including compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act; wrongful termination; breach of contract; intentional infliction of emotional distress; and negligent hiring, supervision and retention, and other tort claims.

Jacquelyn’s litigation practice focuses on complex business disputes and the substantive claims those disputes typically raise, such as breach of contract, interference with contract, dissolutions, fraud, conversion, misrepresentation, defamation, invasion of privacy, bad faith, unfair trade practices, trade secret violations, unfair competition and appointment of receivers. She represents primarily general contractors, but also owners, developers, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade associations in all aspects of both private and public construction law.
