Stan Olsen is a lifelong Nevada resident with more than forty years of experience in government, public affairs and law enforcement. He currently is president of the Olsen Strategic Group, a government affairs consulting business. Previously, Stan served as both.
State Director and Chief of Staff for former Congressman Jon Porter and State Director for Congressman Joe Heck. His public policy involvement began when he was named Executive Director of the Office of Intergovernmental Services for the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. In that role, he managed legislative proposals and appropriations for the department and also served as legislative liaison at the state level for 19 police agencies and 17 county sheriffs. He began his career in law enforcement with the Henderson Police Department in 1971 and joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department in 1973 retiring in 2007. Stan is also a retired Nevada State Senator.
Olsen is committed to his community and has been involved in numerous civic groups. He is currently the President of the Metropolitan Police Museum, Board member with In 12 Days, Board member Anthem Country Club, and Board member of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. He has served as a scout leader and merit badge advisor for Boy Scouts of America, on the board of the Nevada Make-a-Wish Foundation and coached baseball for the Green Valley Little League and chaired the Henderson Traffic Advisory Board. His professional and civic memberships include the Henderson Chamber of Commerce, the Boulder City Chamber of Commerce, the National Rifle Association, the International Police Association, the International Association of Chiefs of Police and the International Freelance Photographers Organization.
Olsen is married to his wife Denise and lives in Henderson, NV.
