The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation is pleased to announce it has been awarded a grant from USAA Bank to provide complimentary office space for 12 months to a veteran-owned start-up business (VOB) at our Henderson Business Resource Center (HBRC). In addition, the Henderson Chamber of Commerce (HCC) will provide the qualifying VOB with a complimentary annual Chamber membership.
The HBRC, located at 112 S. Water Street in downtown Henderson, has 13 fully-furnished business suites that include all utilities and offers affordable lease rates. The suites range in size from 150 to 1200 sf. The goal of the HBRC is to offer short-term and affordable leases to allow the start-up tenant base to grow profits and employee counts, eventually graduating its tenants into larger facilities in the City of Henderson. The HBRC provides an entrepreneurial environment with numerous ancillary services offered at low or no cost to its tenants and HCC members, including mentoring and topic focused presentations with its Roadmap and Foundations for Success series, as well as business planning and counsel with SCORE executives and connections with micro-lenders. The HBRC is the longest tenured business incubator in the State of Nevada, operating for nearly 15 years in its location in the Wells Fargo Bank building in downtown Henderson. Wells Fargo Bank is a key partner, as they donate the facility for use as a business resource center.
To qualify, the VOB must be less than two (2) years old and the owner must provide appropriate veteran status documentation (DD-214 or similar documentation required). The Foundation will be accepting applications through April 30, 2016. Applications are available below and the application fee will be waived. A selection committee from the Chamber Foundation Board will review the applications and select a VOB for the subsidized 12-month lease.
