The Henderson Chamber of Commerce Foundation is a non-profit corporation organized to manage and distribute funds and resources to further the development of the community through activities that are exclusively charitable, scientific, or educational. The Foundation is responsible for the creation and success of both the Henderson Business Resource Center (a business incubator), and the Leadership Henderson program.
To develop and support local businesses and strengthen and diversify the Henderson economy though entrepreneurship training opportunities, mentoring programs and access to capital, with an emphasis on developing technology-based businesses.
Mission Statement – Promote the formation and advancement of new businesses and support entrepreneurial growth through an array of counseling, networking, services and resources. The HBRC is the only business incubator in Nevada and offers an array of services and short term leases for new businesses. The center is developing an extensive network of strategic partners that will both improve exposure and expand its business offerings, both for tenants and the greater business community. The HBRC is implementing a management strategy that will effectively consolidate the Foundation programs (Leadership and HBRC) into a uniform structure providing benefits such as increased exposure, more Chamber of Commerce involvement and operational savings.
Henderson Business Resource Center develops and supports local businesses and strengthens and diversifies the local economy through entrepreneurship training opportunities, mentoring programs, and access to capital sources. The HBRC has flexible leases with six-month terms, furnished turn-key offices, a sophisticated telephone system, fax connections and a separate data T-1. Tenants also have access to copy machines, a break room and seminar and conference rooms. Through partnerships with the Nevada SBCD and SCORE, HBRC provides business development expertise to new and growing businesses in southern Nevada.
Leadership Henderson is an eight-month program devoted to expanding community leadership through interactive educational programs and partnerships. This is accomplished by educating and empowering civic-minded professionals with the goal of building and maintaining a strong network of effective leaders. Activities focus on developing strong working relationships between participants, identifying and evaluating the characteristics of leadership, and distinguishing each participant's leadership style, identifying and evaluating the characteristics of leadership, and distinguishing each participant's leadership style. Full-day sessions are held at various locations throughout the community and topics include history and educations, local government and infrastructure, quality of life and amenities, planning and development, gaming and tourism, business and industry. Graduates gain a keen sense of awareness about community issues and develop increased motivation to assume responsible community roles.
