Burke Construction Group, Inc. Completes Construction on St. Anthony of Padua Parish Hall
In partnership with the Roman Catholic Diocese and LG Architects, Burke Construction Group completed construction on the St. Anthony of Padua Parish Hall. The opening was celebrated with a Dedication Mass on Friday, February 5, 2016 - filled to standing attendance.
The 16,274 sq. ft. Parish Hall Building, designed by LG Architects, serves as the new spiritual home for the St. Anthony of Padua congregation. Located on ten acres at the cross roads of Fort Apache Road and Centennial Parkway in northwestern Las Vegas, this facility includes an arched sanctuary space with seating for nearly 1,000 people. Other features include two conference rooms, eight meeting rooms for catechetical instruction, parish offices, restrooms and a reception area. Outdoor features include a monument plaza with a circular drive, a beautiful patio area for gatherings, and water efficient landscaping. <

Burke Construction Group begins construction on a new expanded warehouse facility for the Frito Lay Las Vegas Distribution Center on behalf of Con-Real, LP.
This approximately 30,000 sq. ft. expansion facility is designed to expand Frito Lay's existing warehouse facility. The expanded space will be constructed directly adjacent to an active warehouse and utilize tilt wall panel construction similar to the existing warehouse building. Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican to Open Four New Neighborhood Hospitals in Las Vegas Valley
Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican, which operates three acute-care hospitals in Henderson and Las Vegas, today announced it will build four new neighborhood hospitals in the greater Las Vegas area within the next two years. These neighborhood hospitals are designed specifically to increase access to high-quality emergency care in an underserved metropolitan area.
Board-certified physicians, experienced nurses and other clinical specialists will staff the new neighborhood hospitals. The first level of each of the multi-million dollar hospitals will feature a comprehensive emergency department, an inpatient wing, imaging and quick-access lab services. In addition to Dignity Health Medical Group practices, other floors will house St. Rose community outreach programs, additional physician offices and other ancillary clinical services to support community health needs. All neighborhood hospitals will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, offering patients the highest levels of care in a smaller campus setting. <<READ MORE>>
Dignity Health-St. Rose Dominican, the community's only not-for-profit, religiously sponsored hospital system, has made $291,187 in grant awards to five nonprofit collaborations in Henderson and Las Vegas. St. Rose has awarded grants to community programs for more than 20 years.
"St. Rose has been committed to providing quality healthcare and supporting the communities of Henderson and Las Vegas for close to 70 years," said Brian Brannman, senior vice president of operations, Dignity Health Nevada. "There were multiple needs in southern Nevada this year. Cox Business today announced its Henderson Fiber Now project, a $10.3 million investment by Cox over the next five years that will provide fiber optic readiness to virtually all businesses and homes in City of Henderson. Tronox Donates Thousands to C.T. Sewell Elementary School Garden Club
Tronox, a Henderson manufacturing plant, donated $2,000 to support the
C.T. Sewell Elementary School student garden club. This donation will help purchase supplies for the garden, including soil and seedlings for various crops. Tronox employees will also lend a hand in constructing a vertical garden to maximize use of the space and yield more produce. The C.T. Sewell garden club teaches students all the aspects of gardening, from planting to tending to harvesting. Students learn about ecology, water and life cycles as well as great gardening tricks to help their crops perform to their full potential. And all of their hard work is rewarded with fresh produce that they can then incorporate into meals to enjoy at home and at school. << READ MORE >>
Tronox Donates Training Equipment to the Henderson Fire Department
Tronox employees at the Henderson site use similar vessels to demonstrate and practice methods for emergency response on different types of cylinders.
"We are happy to contribute to the Henderson Fire Department and we hope that this will allow the opportunity for many more firefighters to increase their skillset," said Rick Stater, Tronox Henderson plant manager. "We know that through supporting our public services, we are also building a safer community."
