Mission Statement
The Henderson Development Association shall coordinate community resources to facilitate economic diversification and encourage the retention and expansion of existing businesses to create a more balanced community.
What We Do
The Henderson Development Association (HDA) is a division of the Henderson Chamber of Commerce. The HDA is designed to develop and expand the primary job base of the Henderson area. The HDA Board of Trustees meets regularly and takes action to ensure that the HDA Mission is being accomplished. The Board works to protect the business community and facilitate problem resolution to promote economic development and diversification.
Goals
Partnerships
Work closely with public and private partners to provide leverage when protecting and growing Henderson’s economic landscape.
Retention
Encourage the retention and expansion of existing businesses.
Communications
Develop and maintain an informative awareness program.
Membership Involvement
Effectively utilize members’ resources and encourage active member participation.
Financial Issues
Ensure the financial stability of HDA and its mission.
Recruitment
Collaborate with existing economic development agencies in business recruitment efforts.
Customers
As both dues and non-dues paying HDA members, customers look to the Board as a resource and representative to act on their behalf to resolve issues, which typically are operational or involved public or quasi-public institutions (i.e.City of Henderson, Clark County, State of Nevada, or Federal agencies). HDA customers are informed, educated and offered involvement opportunities to address current events or policy developments that can impact the business community.
Secondary customers of HDA include the Henderson Chamber of Commerce (HCC) Board and the City of Henderson. The HCC Board expects the HDA Board of Trustees to carry out the organization's mission in compliance with all bylaws. The City of Henderson works closely with the HDA as a partner in resolving business-related issues. The city works with the HDA Board to help identify these issues and resolve them, and sees HDA as a partnered organization that can endorse initiatives aiding economic development.
Decision Making Authority
1. The HDA Board can adopt positions in support of community issues consistent with its mission and goals.
2. The HDA Board develops and approves an annual budget.
3. The HDA Board attends to the day-to-day administration of the budget.
