HENDERSON VOTERS ONLY

Oppose NV Question 2: We urge members to OPPOSE the proposed change to the Nevada state constitution to remove the two-tiered minimum wage system.
IMPAC believes that all registered voters of Henderson should have a voice in their City Council and be fully represented by all City Council members. Unfortunately, a change to ward only voting could undermine this important goal.
Henderson has grown over the past several years, but we are still a small and close-knit community. While ward only voting could make sense in some larger metropolitan areas, Henderson’s current voting structure has proven to meet the needs of the citizens. The current at-large voting system requires that elected representatives must focus on issues impacting the City as a whole and promote policies that are positive for all residents, voters and businesses.
The Henderson Chamber of Commerce (HCC) is the voice of business in government. It is the only organization in Henderson that represents businesses of all sizes, industries, and stages. Through identifying the needs of its member organizations, the HCC harnesses the collective power of member businesses to influence government outcomes through its legislative and issues committees, as well as Issues Mobilization Political Action Committee (IMPAC).
The IMPAC is a bipartisan group that makes direct contributions to candidates who promote and vote for an agenda of a favorable business climate. IMPAC operates separately from the HCC by independent HCC volunteer members and follows the mission of the HCC and its member businesses.
